Importing Contacts into Outlook
Many people have asked about the ability to export various contact information from eRSP into Outlook. We have written a set of steps to walk through the process of exporting information from eRSP to Excel then uploading to Outlook.
Exporting data from eRSP
For this example we will be importing client contact information, the same steps can be applied to any account type.
- Navigate to Reports > Customers > Customer Data
- Select the desired information to be transferred

- Choose the option to 'View in Excel' and click 'Run Report'

- Choose to open the file
Saving an Excel File as a CSV file
In this section we will be saving an Excel file using the CSV (.csv) format
- In Excel, Click the office button and choose 'Save As'
- Select a location and from the “Save as type” drop-down Choose CSV (Comma delimited)

- Click the 'Save' button
- You will most likely get a warning message(shown below) warning you of formatting/compatibility issues you may click ‘OK’ here
- Close Excel
Importing into Outlook
- Choose the File menu and select Import and Export from the menu
- By default the ‘Import from another program or file’ option should be selected if not select it and click ‘Next >’
- On the next screen select ‘Comma Separated Values (Windows)’ and click ‘Next >’
- Using the “Browse…” button, navigate to the CSV file you saved earlier. Select the desired duplicate option then click ‘Next >’
- Select ‘Contacts’ as the destination folder and click ‘Next >’
- Click the ‘Map Custom Fields …’ button
- Drag and drop the eRSP values from the left to the Outlook field name on the right
- Click ‘OK’ then ‘Finish’
- Your contacts should now be imported into Outlook
Summary
You can now view your contacts from eRSP in Outlook. You can repeat the steps above to export more contact information into Outlook. Your steps may vary depending on your version of Microsoft. In this example Excel and Outlook 2007 were used.
